What is SE Pathways?

Advancing
the profession

Established in response to the 2020 SEAOC Call to Action, the SE Pathways initiative aims to develop programming for students and early career professionals, with an emphasis on those from underrepresented groups, to provide opportunities for growth and advancement within our organization and profession leading to success in structural engineering.

The SEAOC SE Pathways Committee is charged with supporting this initiative by curating programs and opportunities for individuals within or entering the profession of structural engineering in California. The committee's goal is to create vibrant engagement to increase the retention of talented engineers within the profession.

A Thank You to Our Sponsors

SE Pathways is funded through the generous support of companies and individuals who believe in our mission. Thanks to our sponsors, SE Pathways has sent over 130 students and emerging engineers to annual structural engineering conventions where they participate in curated programs aimed at supporting underrepresented groups. Major barriers in the structural engineering industry, such as lack of financial support and connections, are addressed through the generous donations from our sponsors. These contributions financially support participants' travel to the conventions and provide them with opportunities to network and make connections in the industry. This effort would not be possible without these organizations and individuals. Please take a moment to visit our Pathways Sponsors Page to view all of our generous sponsors

We would like to extend a special thank you to our Anchor Sponsor, Ashraf Habibullah & Computer and Structures Inc. (CSI). Ashraf and CSI have been Pathways Anchor Sponsors since the inception of SE Pathways, enabling the very first Pathways Cohort in 2022 to become a reality. As the Pathways Anchor Sponsor, CSI has provided countless students and emerging engineers with unique and fulfilling opportunities, setting them up for future success in the structural engineering profession.
