Breaking Down Barriers & Creating Pathways to Success

Event Description
All members of SEAONC, design community professionals will be invited to participate in an engaging discussion about the state of the profession and how we can continue to recruit and retain diverse talent. We will be sharing metrics about the demographics of the profession and talking about challenges encountered by students and young professionals transitioning from education to practice, and the ways in which the leaders in this profession are working to address these challenges. Key findings from national surveys completed by the NCSEA SE3 and SEAONC SE3 Committees will be highlighted.
All local Northern California SEAOC SE Pathway participants from the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 cohorts will be invited to attend this special connectivity / networking event. This discussion will be moderated by active members of the SEAOC SE Pathways Committee, including past co-chair Natalie Tse and current co-chair Jenika McClay. Past cohort members will share about their experiences transitioning into practice, and reflections on the impact that the SE Pathways program has had on their careers, and perceptions of their role in the industry.
